As I mentioned in a a recent post What do you see? , I am getting a new room built for crafting and we are majorly extending the kitchen and the utility room at the same time. The work started at the start of September 2018 and it is still ongoing!!!
Our future study (a room mostly for Mr Fit) is now our kitchen and we have a microwave and a 2 ringed gas hob. The first few days we were all marvellously stoic and stiff upper lipped ‘yes, I have everything here we need!’ while serving up a few lovely pasta dishes. We even took to wondering why we were extending the kitchen as everything we needed fitted so compactly into this area!! Ha! We now are thoroughly sick of it & have lost count of the number of times we have tripped into the dogs water bowl, banged a hip on the table trying to get past or barked a shin on the dishwasher door (how sore that this, never mind the indignity of trying not to impale oneself on the cutlery basket!!).
I am sick of having no oven and weirdly I desperately miss…. pizza!!??
Anyway progress has been made and here are a few photos to prove it.
The early days were even more destructive than I expected quickly taking down our conservatory & the outside wall.

But soon the new walls went up quite quickly – that is a view of the would be
craft room with its velux window & the walls tracked for electrics!

Getting the windows in felt like a big achievement.

Then came the under floor heating – here are my quality control inspectors giving their ‘seal of approval’.

Now that it has been painted we are just waiting for a floor & a door. The tiler is flooring the kitchen area first but I’m impatient for my studio to be floored too – he seems so slow!
So that is my progress on my craft room and kitchen extension. Just another week or two ….
