In the late summer sun, now cooled by the teasing breeze of approaching autumn, I sit in my garden. Itโs not big, but itโs full of pretty flowers and useful plants. It calms my heart to take a big deep breath out here! I can stop striving in this place. There is an acceptance of slowness in nature, it rarely rushes to accomplish anything. And as my busy brain catches the slow-down idea, I smile with my face upturned to the sun. I whisper a prayer of gratitude for my many blessings to the Son.
I open my eyes and drink in the sights and sounds of a much loved garden. There are flitting butterflies, the buzz of a passing insect and the funny engine-like drone of a bee foraging in a foxglove bell!! Birds call to each other, hiding just out of sight in the thick hedge that they call home.
๐Thank you God, for this little patch of garden and how, for me, it has become holy ground because I often meet with you here. ๐
