Recently there has been an Instagram event for crafters called #MarchMeettheMaker. It was devised by Joanne Hawker and is open to absolutely everyone. It is a great way to get ideas to help you increase your social media presence as well as a bit of fun. Today, the first day of March and I’m already in the last hour of the day getting my post sorted! #typical 😉🤣 The prompt for today is ‘Favourite to Make’

My favourite to make is this wee beauty – a white lace angel with vibrant red satin ribbon. She’s one of the first products I made and I love her for many reasons. She is one of the reasons I named my business #AngeLisaCrafts. Her construction is a technique which is called #freestandinglace. The pattern is embroidered onto water soluble stabiliser using my beloved sewing machine ‘Betsy’. Then the stabiliser is washed away leaving ‘lace’.
My life was changed when I became chronically ill and a lot of things were taken/washed away but I believe something beautiful remains #abilitywithdisability.
Also there is a spiritual dimension to it, when I became a Christian, God forgive things in my life that weren’t good or pretty – He put all my wrongdoings into the ‘sea of His forgetfulness’. Literally washed away wrong things in my life that I was relying on instead of Him. And then He offers me life, adoption into the family of God and His Holy Spirit to live in me. He help me to live in a way that brings glory to Him. Anyone who knows me, knows I’m far from perfect and I certainly don’t claim to be ‘Holy’ but I’m a ‘work in progress’.
Please be patient, God hasn’t finished with me yet!
