How it all started

Day 2 Of March Meet The Maker 2019 – How I started

.

I was a busy working mum with a busy & interesting job in Statistics. I became ill – life changingly ill with #myalgicencephalomyelitis and lost my job, independence, health etc. After a few years of ‘adjusting’ I persuaded my lovely mother in law to go with me to #crochet classes. I was hooked (& my mother in law went straight back to knitting!). I found that crochet/crafting helped my mental health & also served as a distraction on painful days. My lovely teacher, Nancy @irishkiwi62, said she liked to crochet but her real passion was patchwork. So I turned up one Saturday to see if I could try it. Soon I owned a sewing machine & with the fab help from Nancy I was sewing & quilting! Shortly I outgrew my wee sewing machine & was looking for one with more functions & I eventually got ‘Betsy’ . Here she is –

she is a sewing/embroidery machine – a Husqvarna Viking Designer Topaz 25 to give her her full title. Soon my craft ‘hobby’ was out of control & Mr Fit decided it needed to pay its own way! That is how #AngeLisaCrafts began & I love it ❤️🧵 👼 My first putting my toe in the sellers market was with @conscious_crafties who were so very helpful & supportive – they really understood how much confidence you lose with poor health. But many of them were inspiring & encouraging & it really helped me make a start!

I then found my niche in Etsy and later in Handmade on Amazon.
