AngeLisa Crafts at Amazon Handmade
Of course, my first product would have to be my favourite lace angel.

My inspiration for this item is my shop name (AngeLisa Crafts) which is an amalgamation of the words Lisa (my name) and the word angel. I have always loved angels and became more interested in them after reading a book ‘This Present Darkness’ by Frank Perreti. The angels in it were beautiful and strong warriors.
My handmade angel is created in high quality embroidery thread and has a contrasting red knotted satin ribbon for hanging. The technique is called free standing lace and is machine embroidered on a water soluble material which is then washed away leaving the angel. That’s my favourite part of the process, washing away the stabiliser and seeing the fragile but beautiful product emerge. This has a parallel in my like in how I survived after I became ill, a lot of my stability, status job, etc was washed away. However, I choose to believe that pain and illness has been used in a refining process to reveal the inner beauty of a trusting heart and a prayerful spirit.
The Bible says that angels are created beings and despite our myths surrounding angels, humans are created in God’s image and don’t seem to become angels after death. On the other hand angels don’t become human either. Angels, both good and bad(more commonly though of as demons) have intelligence, emotions and will. Here are some of the things the Bible says angels do:-
They praise God (Psalm 148:1-2; Isaiah 6:3). They worship God (Hebrews 1:6; Revelation 5:8-13). They rejoice in what God does (Job 38:6-7). They serve God (Psalm 103:20; Revelation 22:9). They appear before God (Job 1:6; 2:1). They are instruments of God’s judgments (Revelation 7:1; 8:2). They bring answers to prayer (Acts 12:5-10). They aid in winning people to Christ (Acts 8:26; 10:3). They observe Christian order, work, and suffering (1 Corinthians 4:9; 11:10; Ephesians 3:10; 1 Peter 1:12). They encourage in times of danger (Acts 27:23-24). They care for the righteous at the time of death (Luke 16:22).
Of course, we more commonly think of them being related to the Christmas story and so I encourage you to hang an angel on your Christmas tree this year and spark your imagination about these incredible beings.
